Ashley Alexander

Ashley Alexander, MHSA, serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Kelsey Research Foundation (KRF). She was appointed to this position as of February 2020 and became the organizations first female and youngest professional to assume the role. Founded in 1956, Kelsey Research Foundation was created to promote medical research and health education and continues this mission today. At KRF, Ms. Alexander oversees the strategic vision and operations of the Foundation and coordinates all research, including industry-sponsored clinical trials, collaborative research with Texas Medical Center and national research institutions, and KRF’s gut microbiome research in partnership with UTHealth. The key areas of research for KRF include oncology, cancer survivorship, brain health, lifestyle interventions for improved health outcomes, gut health, including leveraging the gut microbiome to treat diseases. Kelsey Research Foundation is the research and health education affiliate of Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, and Ms. Alexander serves as the liaison between the Foundation and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, including senior leadership, physicians, and operations, to bring clinical research, health education, and community-focused initiatives to the Clinic, its patients, and the greater Houston community. Ashley started at KRF in January 2016. Prior to joining KRF, Ms. Alexander was the director of the Internal Medicine and Critical Care Service Lines at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center. Ms. Alexander has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Furman University and a Master of Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan. She currently serves as the co-chair of the Alzheimer’s Association Innovation Roundtable, on the advisory board and finance committee for The Health Museum and the associate vestry for St. John the Divine Church while also volunteering within her children’s schools.
