Rubin Pillay is a professor of medicine, assistant dean, executive director, and chief innovation officer at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where he leads the health-related innovation initiatives for the School of Medicine and the Health System. With over 28 years of experience in healthcare as a clinician, academic, leader, and innovator, he applies creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship to transform health and healthcare in the digital age.

He is also the founder and president of the American Health Innovation Academy and the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Health. He has a PhD in Business Administration, an MBA, an MSc in Health Management, and a MBChB in Medicine. He has published widely in the field of strategic health leadership and has delivered numerous keynote and TEDx talks on the future of health and healthcare. He is passionate about empowering health professionals and organizations to embrace change, foster innovation, and create value.
